Company History

The success story of the company started in 1989 under the name of Crossair (later Swiss International Air Lines, abbr. SWISS) when the AMOS foundations were laid. The software was designed for the specific needs of the airline, and in 1992 the system was sold for the first time. A few years later, a standardisation of AMOS took place which was also the starting point for the fast-growing success of the product.

In 2004, the AMOS business activities were transferred from the IT department of SWISS to the newly founded 100% subsidiary Swiss AviationSoftware (Swiss-AS). From now on, being a self-contained company within a strong network, the AMOS team could fully concentrate on its core business and strengthen the position of AMOS as industry-leading MRO solution in Europe and beyond.

Swiss AviationSoftware’s headquarters are situated directly at Basel EuroAirport overlooking the hangars of Lufthansa Technik Switzerland. This means that we are in touch with active aircraft maintenance on a daily basis and therefore able to catch MRO trends at a very early stage.

Facts & Figures

Swiss AviationSoftware has been strongly growing over the last years and has always posted positive results since 1989.

In 2011 the Swiss-AS team has grown by approx. 15 people to almost 90 employees. The team is very stable and the key members are involved in the development and marketing of the MRO software since inception.

Vision & Mission

It is our vision to be the acknowledged leader in the MRO software market by setting standards with our solution AMOS on an international level.

Therefore, it is our mission to stay one step ahead of our customers and competitors in terms of business functions as well as technological innovation. Our major advantage in this regard is the fact that we are the only MRO software supplier that is directly embedded in an active user department (i.e. Lufthansa Technik Switzerland).

Furthermore, we stick to our policy of strongly focusing on Research & Development instead of investing large sums of money into Sales & Marketing as many of our competitors do. More than 50% of our staff are directly working on the further development of AMOS.

And last but not least, we exclusively concentrate on MRO – AMOS is our only product in which we invest 100% of our manpower, know-how and expertise.
