Rega has been a Swiss-AS customer since 1992

Swiss-AS is delighted to announce that Rega, the Swiss air rescue organisation and Swiss-AS’s very first customer, has successfully gone live with AMOSeTL, marking another milestone in a partnership spanning more than three decades.

Since 1992, AMOS has supported Rega’s maintenance operations, providing a trusted foundation for managing the technical data and processes behind its specialised fleet of helicopters and air ambulance jets.

With the introduction of AMOSeTL, Rega is now taking another step in its digitalisation journey with an integrated digital workflow.

Keeping aircraft ready for the next mission

For Rega, readiness is fundamental to its mission of providing professional, around-the-clock medical assistance and emergency air transport. When an emergency call comes in, crews and aircraft need to be ready to respond without delay.

AMOSeTL connects aircraft technical information directly with Rega’s AMOS-based maintenance processes. Flight crews and maintenance personnel can record, access and manage relevant information electronically, giving teams a clearer view of an aircraft’s technical status and ensuring critical data is available when it is needed.

By streamlining the flow of information, the solution reduces the need to search for or manually transfer data, improves consistency and supports faster decision making. For Rega’s teams, this creates a more efficient way of managing technical information and helps facilitate the rapid return of aircraft to service.

A focused implementation in four months

The project benefited from a clearly defined scope and close collaboration between Rega and Swiss-AS. As a result, implementation progressed efficiently, with AMOSeTL going live just four months after the project began.

Training was conducted by the project team, with the initial deployment focused on AMOSeTL’s Pilot Mode. The solution is now live for pilot operations, while Mechanic Mode is currently used primarily in Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations.

Rega’s first flight with AMOSeTL was performed by its Chief Pilot and provided a real-world operational test of the digital tech log from day one.

The focused initial deployment provides a solid foundation for further development as operational requirements evolve.

Digital maintenance for specialised operations

Rega’s adoption of AMOSeTL demonstrates how digital maintenance processes can support a diverse range of aviation operations, from conventional airline fleets to specialised air rescue organisations operating different aircraft types and demanding mission profiles.

With its Challenger fleet now operating with AMOSeTL, Rega continues its digital transformation while building on a long-standing partnership with Swiss-AS.
